This looks really awesome, Steve. Great work on the video, as well. Makes me want to be there (even though I’m not a drummer).
Also, as an aside, I really enjoyed the track you made for this. It sounded very familiar for some reason. It took me a couple days to place it, but I eventually realized it’s very much like Boards of Canada “Corsair” (BoC is one of my favorite groups). Not sure if BoC influenced the track or not, but I enjoyed it a lot.

WOW. Attention world… Erik wins. I can’t believe you spotted that! It sounds like it because I sampled that very drone for the track. I used the last 60 seconds during the opening of the video, but reversed and slowed down so it could be in the key I needed it to be in. Then I sampled a single bar from the middle of the tune and looped it forward and reversed throughout most of the louder part of the video track. NICE EAR, ERIK! Sheesh.

Hehe – I thought it sounded quite familiar. 🙂
Do you listen to Boards of Canada much? I know many people find their style somewhat abrasive and distrubing, but I like ’em quite a bit.

Yeah I love Boards. But the genres of IDM/Ambient/Electronica are abrasive and annoying to almost everyone except those that actually participate in the music.
