Here’s the official video for my new drums, dubbed “The Glow Kit.”

Also… I have a favor to ask… I really appreciate everybody posting the other Glow Kit videos on their FB pages and what not, but this official one is the best one for that.  We’re trying to get the word out on these drums, so if you don’t mind tweeting/linking/whatever to the above video, that would be stellar.

My new RD drums are officially in the game as of late last night. There will be more footage soon, but for now here’s a sneak peak…

I’ll be using the kit at this Friday’s Jeremy Sanoski Band album release show.  I put some of the tracks from the new record on my myspace page, so go check those out, and then come to the show to see everything this kit can do.

The time has come for me to part with the amazing amber acrylic kit. I lovelovelove these drums, but we hatched a plan for an incredible new RD kit for my arsenal, and I don’t want to be a drum hog.

This kit began as a custom drumset specifically for the Bill Mike Band.  I also used them for all the video lessons, in quite a few sessions, and live with BMB for a few years now.  Last year I added some additional toms to the kit, and the sizes are unlike anything I’ve ever seen.  14×24 kick, 11×15 rack, 16×18 floor, and 16×20 floor.  The 9×14 snare will be sold separately.

Seriously, this kit is crazy awesome.  I hate to part with it, but such is life.

This is the final episode from the first shoot. There are plans for another shoot soon, but it might look a little different.

Bottom line: this lesson on “Hertas” isn’t the last video lesson. Stay tuned.

Here’s a clip of the kit I’m using on the Jason Harms UK tour…

It’s been a while since I posted a video lesson, so here’s the next one in the series. This lesson is “part 2” from Episode 10.

I spent the morning at the RD shop today, because my new kit arrived.

My deal with Risen is such that I basically get a new kit every month or so, because Keith (owner) lets me use whatever drums he has laying around on a given week. The orange acrylic kit is mine to keep, but the rest of the “normal” kits you might see me playing are always rotating. BUT… today… I got another kit that will be mine to keep.

These drums were previously owned by Jeremy (Bwack) from the David Crowder Band, and they’ve been all over the world in addition to being on every Crowder record so far.

– 8×10 rack, 9×12 rack
– 12×14 floor, 14×16 floor
– 17×22 kick
– blue sparke high-gloss
– 6-ply, all-maple, w/ wood hoops on all drums

Needless to say, I am super pumped to get these drums.  Here’s a video of the arrival and assembly…

The guys at the Risen Drums shop are now on Twitter.  The account was born earlier today, and this video was “tweet” number two.  If you’re a Twitter user like I am, you’ll want to follow the RD page… asap.

Here’s some footage from soundcheck at a Jeremy Sanoski Band gig the other night in Wisconsin. This was the live debut of the newly-expanded amber acrylic kit…

I’ve been at Matt Patrick’s new studio all afternoon today. He owned/operated Two Pillars and recently changed locations, now working out of a super cool space he calls “The Library.” It’s a great vibe and a really easy set-up. We did a hip-hop single today, but I’ll be in here doing a full-length folk/americana record in a few months. I’m really looking forward to spending an entire week in this place.

Also, I just got some additional toms for the Bill Mike kit. Check out this video for a little tour of the studio and a look at the new amber acrylic toms…
